Basic details/taken list is here, contact post is here!

Now, as far as AUs go. In order to keep both the Alphas and Betas involved we can easily handwave it and say that they're all one big mess of a family. Adopted, w/e. Doesn't really matter. I'll cut you if you try to make it super complicated.

Groups
The majority of conversation will probably be done through Pesterlogs for the first while. The groups can basically be divided up as Guardian, Beta Kid, Alpha kid. So Bro, Dave, Dirk would be a single group, while Roxy, Rose, Mom would form another. They all start in their respective homes - Houston, Texas for the Striders, the Lalondes are in Rainbow Falls, New York, and the Egbert/Crocker group is in Maple Valley, Washington. If some characters are missing by the time we get underway we can either handwave them dying or say that they were separated.

The trolls are essentially on their own until they meet up.

Distance
Going with the Strider household which is as smack-dab in the middle of everyone as you can get, we get this for distance:

Distance from Striders (Houston, Texas) to Egbert/Crockers (Maple Valley, Washington)
2,270 mi
By foot that's 30 days 22 hours.
By car that's 1 day 15 hours.

Striders (Houston, TX) to Lalondes (Rainbow Falls, NY)
1, 761 mi
By foot that's 22 days, 22 hours.
By car that's 1 day 6 hours.

Striders (Houston, TX) to English/Harley (Disneyland Park, Anaheim, CA,)
1,533 mi,
By foot that's 20 days 17 hours
By car that's 23 hours 33 mins

Cars are a good option for long stretches of country road, but nearly impossible to use if you get near a city. The streets are packed with abandoned vehicles that, while are rife for the picking, completely block the roads and make travel impossible. Also, keep in mind that this is on ideal conditions and carries through some big cities on the highway. Given the state of things, they may have to move around it and set themselves back by several hours or even days.

The goal for the kids, like any decent zombie flick, is surviving long enough to reunite with everyone and get the hell out of dodge. How this is achieved will be decided as time goes on.

The trolls goal is much the same. Meeting up and finding somewhere safe to stay alive.

Game mechanics / powers

Every game has it's gimick, every class has it's ups and downs. So we're just going to translate these powers into something useful game-wise.

So for instance, Time powers will translate to time seeming to temporarily slow down for the user, letting them zero in on multiple targets / weakpoints.

Life powers could either go the way of prolonging the time it takes to get infected to being able to cure small wounds using health packs.

Seer powers could be basic precognition or bad feelings about areas up ahead.

Void could mean that they're more difficult for zombies to detect.

And so on and so forth. Basically, feel free to get a little creative about an extra ability your characters so long as it fits within the abilities they have in canon.

Safe Houses are also a feature in this new world. As this is, no matter how fucked up, a very real game, the players are given opportunities to reload. Safe houses are not completely safe and mostly serve as a place to rest for the night and restock weaponry. There isn't enough food in there to sustain a single person for more than a night, let alone a group of two or more.

Infection
Scratches could take anywhere up to five days to kill a character, depending on the severity of the wound. The shallower? The longer it takes, the deeper the faster.

Bites can take anywhere from hour to two days. Again, depending on the severity. If the skin was just broken then it would take roughly two days. If they had a chunk taken out of their arm? Hours. If you're badly enough hurt to die from your injuries, you turn after your bucket has been kicked.

If your character dies, they are dead. There is no magical cure. You can absolutely play them as a zombie! Maybe there's is a cure out there somewhere, but for all intents and purposes they are dead and become the enemy to the player characters. Due to the whole, y'know, wanting to eat their brains thing.

Any further questions can be asked here and discussed between everyone! The chances of me vetoing anything are slim to none.
